MPJD confirms Kosovo citizen arrested by Serbia

MPJD reports that “immediately after receiving information on this case, the Interconnecting Office of the Republic of Kosovo in Serbia has been engaged through official and diplomatic channels to ensure precise and complete information on Mr. Haziri”
The Interconnecting Office of the Republic of Kosovo has addressed an official request to the authorities of the Government of Serbia to confirm Mr. Haziri and to clarify the legal reasons for his ban.
In terms of the case, the European Union Delegation in Serbia has also been announced, as well as diplomatic representatives of the Quint” countries, the announcement follows.
On the other hand, it says that “if against Mr. Haziri holds the detention measure and criminal procedure is initiated, the Interconnecting Office of the Republic of Kosovo in Serbia will apply for official visits to the detention centre”.
At this stage, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora calls on all citizens of the Republic of Kosovo to avoid travel through Serbia's territory, in order to ensure their security and prosperity.
“The MPJD also highlights the urgent need for response on the part of the International Community to the expectations practices of Serbian authorities, which conflict with fundamental principles of international law and with international human rights conventions”, the report said.
The rise of cases of bans and abuses of citizens of the Republic of Kosovo by Serbian authorities constitutes violations of the spirit of dialogue and of agreements signed between the two sides.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora vows that they will continue to commit themselves with dedication to protecting the rights and interests of the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, wherever” is located, the announcement concludes.
