The next meeting in Brussels between Kosovo and Serbia's top negotiators, Besnik Bislimi and Petar Petkovovic, held under the mediation of EU special emissary Peter Sorensen, was wrapped up today without any progress.
After the talks, Petkovic told Serbian media that he had persistently sought the establishment of the Serb majority municipalities' Association, but accused the Kosovo side of lack of will in this direction.
According to him, Bislimi did not give a clear stance on accepting the European draft for the status of association.
“If there is no Association, the question arises of survival of the Serbian people in Kosovo. So, for us, this is now a humanitarian issue because the Serbian people can no longer endure all terror suffering from Kurti police and Kurti's regime. I opened this to Mr. Bislimi”, Petkov was quoted as declaring.
“The Union of Serbian municipalities represents a framework for the survival of our people, and we will insist on that. We said that the prerequisite for any further reason in terms of further steps is to have that association we've been waiting for 12 years”, He added it.
