Russia's former president, Dmitry Medvedev, has accused neighbouring Finland of following the path to fighting Russia.
“Passy joined NATO, Helsinki is following the path of confrontation in preparation for war with Russia, under the pretext of safeguard clauses. It is obvious that he is preparing to attack us”, Medvedev said in a letter published at the state agency, Tass.
Medvedev currently holds the post of deputy chairman of Russia's National Security Council.
He also complained that staff is being established for army units in Lapland “located near the Russian border”.
It is not clear to whom these structures are directed, as NATO has declared the enemy Russia, Medvedev wrote.
After the launch of Ukraine's Russian occupation in 2022, Finland gave up its imminent military policy and joined NATO, along with Sweden. / REL/
