Lack of sufficient information about the presence of the chemical element mangan in drinking water has caused concern among Pristina citizens, particularly in the neighbourhoods supplied by Lake Badoci.
Since September 1st, the National Public Health Institute and Regional Water Company “Pristina” have announced the deterioration of water quality only through social networks, without offering clear explanations of the dangers and way of forming mangani in water, and for that reason many residents do not know exactly why water is not safe for consumption.
A resident of a neighbourhood that is being supplied with Autobots, Azize Krasniqi, has told “KosovoPress”, that she has no information why water cannot be consumed in her neighborhood.
Krasniqi also has said that cafes in this neighbourhood are serving the water, for which he has appealed not to be used, but that Krasniqi does not drink when served.
We don't know why you don't drink, what they're saying, we don't drink, we've been drinking every year. Now we don't know why they found the analysis not to drink it. For myself, I'm not taking the water with my coffee, yes (served), I don't drink”, she said.
The other resident, Laurent Kryeziu, added that he is informed that water cannot be used but that reason is unknown.
We know you can't use this water. We are not safe (in the cafe)”, Kryeziu added.
Another resident who was not introduced to The KP has said a ton of waste is collected in Badoc, and for that reason, water is contaminated.
The Mramor fertilizer goes to Badoc, some tons are garbage there. You have to be surprised how much garbage there is and what we drink at”, he said.
The KP team has visited and cafes in some of the neighbourhoods where water from the water supply has been appealed, but the same did not want to be approved.
While in downtown Pristina, where neighbourhoods are supplied from Lake Batlava and that there is no water problem, citizens wanting to remain anonymous have complained that water is not served with the reasoning that they are not drinking. However, there are even cases where citizens panic about drinking water in cafes.
The manager of a business in Pristina Square, Mentor Berisha, has said clients ask him from which lake they are supplied when water is served in glass.
“Clients often ask which video you're connected to:44 “Centra is supplied by Batala Lake, we're fine right now. It is not preferred to drink water from Badoci Lake. Customers often ask who you're related to, I've asked the water pipeline, said we're in the square with Batlava Lake”, Berisha stressed.
Meanwhile, KRU spokeswoman “Pristina” said that during this time they have reported to social networks, but also on portals and televisions.
Everything we declare is in touch with IKSHPK. We launched a joint communiqué, posted pages and Facebook. Also, during the day there are over 6 televisions where we've been on the main news, so we've been giving more information in a few days than any institution in this sensitive issue”, she said.
Kosovo's National Public Health Institute (IKSHPK), during monitoring and conveying the quality of drinking water, has noted rising manganin values in water samples in the area, which is supplied by Badoci's accumulated lake.
In order to protect the health of the population, I The KSHPK appeals to citizens supplied from the Badoc Lake Water factory to avoid using water for drink until next announcement.
IK The KPS points out that pollution of mangan is chemical pollution and that boiling water does not eliminate manganin. Water can only be used for cleaning, maintaining personal hygiene, and living environments.

What's mangani?
Mangane is a natural mineral in rocks, land, underground water, surface water, and food is a normal part of the human diet. It exists in the water as a natural mineral of groundwater, but may also be present because of pollution sources. In a concentration greater than 0.05 milligrams per litre (mg/L), mangani can be colored, wind, or taste taken in water. According to most endangered studies, children and adults who drink water with long - term mangani high levels may have problems with memory, attention, and motor skills. Infants (footlings under one year of age) may have learning and behavioral problems if they drink water with much mangane. Drinking water with mangani above the guide level can be harmful to your health, but taking a bath or shower is no longer a problem. Mangane in water can stain your clothes, cause scales in your plumber, and make your water smell or taste bad. Mangan may also create a brown - black stain in your toilet, shower, bathtub, or sink./Periscopi/
