In an answer to Time.net, the US Embassy in Kosovo has said they are continuing to assess the government's actions in office.
They say they have made it clear to the government on duty what is the way to improving reports, following Kurt's decision to suspend Strategic Dialogue because of Kurt's actions.
“Sic we have made clear to the incumbent government, the door is open to improving relations and restarting co-operation. However, this requires concrete steps by incumbent Prime Minister Kurti to reduce tensions and advance our common goal of strengthening peace and stability as the basis for mutual economic prosperity. We will continue to assess the government's actions in office”, declared by the embassy.
Speaking of the decision to suspend the Strategic Dialogue, Kurti had said that they were not destroyed with America, but that they have differences.
I want to clarify that this is the suspension of planning for Strategic Dialogue, not Strategic Dialogue as a start process, nor the regular communication we have. We haven't broken up with America, but we have some differences”, Kurty said at the Government meeting.
He had attacked the opposition, saying he is overreacting.
“Oposors are increasing in negative light any events for our government reports with the American government, I don't want to minimize recent developments. I assure citizens that our government deals seriously with the American Embassy's statements and attitudes”, Kurti said.
He had said that differences with the United States are in the field of diplomacy.
“on the pillar of diplomacy, we have certain differences where very often we deal with our positions in relation to Serbia and actions towards illegal structures in Kosovo. Since we agree on values, interests, and purposes, sometimes not even on operational and tactical issues”, Kurti had said.
For the US's decision to suspend dialogue, the Embassy announced, where it was due to concerns about government actions in office that have increased tensions and instability, limiting the United States' ability to work productively with Kosovo to joint priorities.
According to the embassy, recent actions and statements by incumbent Prime Minister Kurti have presented challenges to progress made over many years.
The United States has indefinitely suspended the planned Strategic Dialogue with Kosovo due to concerns about the government's actions in office that have increased tensions and instability, limiting the United States' ability to work productively with Kosovo to joint priorities”.
President Vjosa Osmani had expressed deep regret and concern about the decision.
Osmani has said the presidency will be fully and highly committed for this dialogue to resume as soon as possible.
The country's first has declared that the coalition issue with the United States is a strategic issue requiring political unity and commitment of all in Kosovo, adding that each should take on the seriousness and maximum responsibility of preserving this sacred alliance.
Strategic dialogue is a process that the US State Department in most cases develops with different countries in the world aimed at advancing bilateral relations.
This process includes high-level discussions between the two countries that are held either in Washington or in the current country, on a wide range of topics such as protection, security, environment, energy, economic co-operation, etc.
The US has developed strategic dialogue with France, the United Kingdom, Romania, Austria, Poland, Slovenia, Moldova, Greece, Northern Macedonia, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Egypt, etc.
The US is involved in strategic dialogue not only with states, but also with organisations or movements of countries it does not consider allies, such as the Svilatana Tsikhanouskaya-led democratic Belarusian Movement. /Periscopi/
