The lack of institutions, Paris's envoy to Kosovo, has called it disaster. He has called for Kosovo institutions to respect the Constitutional Court's independence, stressing that this court is one of the country's main pillars.
I want to say that the Constitutional Court is a highly respected institution abroad outside Kosovo. The Constitutional Court has been accepted as a full member of the European Committee of Constitutional Courts. It has also been accepted as a full member of the French-speaking Constitutional Courts Association. I would invite institutions to continue respecting the independence of the court. The court is one of the pillars of the Republic of Kosovo, and for that they have our full support”, he said after the Mediale Centre event in Caglavica organised on the subject “Dezinformation and false news in election campaigns how to protect voters and preserve the democratic process”.
As for delays in forming functional institutions, Guerot has estimated that this situation is unfavourable for Kosovo and has hampered the implementation of several international projects, reports EO, broadcast. Periscope.
I think we're in this situation. Kosovo is not the only country where there is a government in office. In my country we currently have a prime minister, but not a fully appointed new government, and there are many countries in Europe in a similar situation. It is not a good situation for any country, nor for Kosovo. The French Development Agency has developed projects ready to support Kosovo in the energy transition, as well as in preparing the Mediterranean Games, and we have been co-operating with the government of Albin Kurti, with the government in office now, and we are ready to proceed with whatever government will be out of Parliament. But now we are a bit blocked, of course, because Kosovo's Constitution says any international agreement with financial implications must be ratified by the Parliament, and we do not have a country that can function. So, all our efforts, not just France's, but speaking of French efforts, have slowed down by this”, he said.
For the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, the French ambassador has stressed that this is the only way to achieve progress and has praised the importance of leading this process from the European Union.
He has added that promoting the idea of a <x0-dead” dialogue would stop progress and is in no one's interest.
