Kosovo is facing a serious political and economic situation as institutional blockades continue due to the Constitutional Court's decision banning any action to establish new institutions by September 30th.
Opposition representatives have raised serious concerns over the state of the country, naming this phase one of the most difficult since post-war, news reports.
They have criticised the government for lack of vision and mismanagement of the situation, both politically and economically.
LDK MP Hykmete Bajrami has warned that Kosovo is slipping towards a deep economic crisis, with significant inflation growth.
“According to the ASS, the inflation rate is 4.3%, while for the basic basket of inflation consumption reaches digital numbers, the trade deficit is deepening by frightening numbers, central-level capital investments are the lowest in history and financial institutions are in a deep lack of liquidity. At the same time, electricity for more vital businesses in the country is 300% more expensive. Simply put, prices are rising daily, importing almost everything we consume, the government doesn't invest money in the economy, and each family today is on credit. Meanwhile, the few economies we had are being destroyed because local production is being sacrificed to favor energy dealers, who already have names that are people close to Albin Kurtin”, she wrote.
It has accused Kurti Government of mismanagement, favouring energy traders and destruction of local production, while each family in the country faces the burden of loans and increasing the cost of living.
Albin Kurti's corrupt policy succeeded in reducing the Serbian List, making it Allied in blocking institutions for a completely insignificant position in the Parliament's Headship. Rarely do you know who the Serbian Vice President was in the Parliament leadership since this institution exists. But it is a fact that with Albin in the government, this party has 9 deputies in the Republic Assembly, despite accusations no one denies the institutions led by Albin Kurti and his people have approved their participation in the February 9th elections. Citizens need to know that each of their challenges, such as high food prices, excessive energy bills, derogatory wages, difficulties in providing textbooks, lack of medicine in hospitals, and lack of perspective have an address. This address is Government, which has been in power for 5 years and other than funlopant corruption is remembered to have benefited the country. The destroyers and blockers have the end of it!
On the other hand, PDK MP Ganimete Musliu has criticised the Constitutional Court's decision blocking the establishment of new institutions, naming the situation a state blockade for a non-weight and real impact.
The state again blocked for a position that has no weight or influence. Populism and lack of responsibility are costing the country 30 days without functioning. Whoever doesn't know how to rule does theaters with institutions. The republic is not a toy for party interests”, she said.
According to her, current governance is turning the Republic into a toy for party interests, while the lack of a functional Assembly is leading the country towards authoritarianism and institutional paralysis.
The citizens did not vote for a silent assembly, for deputies who have no name or voice. They voted for representation, for change and for responsibility. Without a functional framework, there is no democracy, there is only authoritarian government with a total lack of legal and moral legitimacy. Kosovo is spending its most difficult days”, Musliu concluded. /Periscopi/
