According to Dogana, the passenger first passed through the green channel, destined for travellers without goods for statements, but was selected for more detailed control by customs officers.
“During the luggage scan, a considerable amount of silver jewelry was discovered, which, after verification, resulted in 1,518,89 grams with a fatted value of 2,457,58 euros. The bill was introduced by the passenger himself only after the discovery of the case, while customs evasion was worth 732,40 $”, it was said in Dogan's announcement.
The goods have been banned and subject to further procedures in accordance with the provisions of the Customs and Actis Code.
Dogana said that against the person in question has been initiated the procedure for customs violations, while goods will remain under customs supervision until the outcome of all legal procedures envisioned with legislation in force.
