The Association of Veterans of the Kosovo Liberation Army (OVL-UÇK) has announced that on September 14th, at 2:00, it will organise a protest in The Hague City, where the trial is under way against former KLA leaders.
O Deputy Chairman VL-KLA, Gazmend Syla, has stated that the organisation is in the final phase and the interest in participation is great both from Kosovo and from the diaspora.
He stressed that the permits for the protest were taken from the Dutch authorities and that everything is ready.
The organisation is going really well, we're in the final phase. We've had many of our fellow fighters who've been interested in going by bus to attend the protest. Some have helped with bus care. There will be five buses leaving Kosovo and we will make the way to Albania, targeted by Italy then in the Netherlands, because they are afraid to move to other countries, because in Serbia they care about putting us on Interpol lists so that we don't have problems, we move from Albania. The diaspora organization is going as well, it has interest from Germany, Switzerland, to Australia and America. We're in the final phase, with the Dutch authorities we've completed all the permit procedures. Everything about maintenance is over, we're just waiting for the participation in protest”, Syla has declared.
According to him, the protest will be held a day before the presentation of an American witness to the court, as a sign of support for former fighters and a message to the Special Court and the international community.
It was that day, because the American witness would immediately be on tomorrow. This is some sort of support to our fighters, that we are with you. We rejoice that the witness is American. Our main message is to the Special Court and the International Community, not in my name, so our people tell this court that you can't make decisions in our name because everything has changed the content of this court and its mission. Because she has deviated from her mission, she cannot decide in the name of the people. The number of organisers to deal with the protest is always going to increase.
