One killed, two wounded during shootings at a US immigrant centre

The suspected attacker, who opened fire in the ICE building from a nearby building, has died, police said in Dallas through an X post.

Secretary of Internal Affairs Kristi Noem said the assailant died after firing himself with a firearm.

While we still do not know the motives, we know that ICE officials are facing unprecedented violence against them”, Noem wrote on X. This violence must stop”.

Local television, Fox4 said the three people that were shot were people banned from ICE.

This television reported that the attacker was at the height of a building when he shot himself when he saw law enforcement officials approaching him.

Deputy Director of I CE, Madison Shahan, told Fox News that no agency official has been hurt during the attack.

“We have seen a lot of violence in the ICE buildings, and this is not the first time that there has been attacks on the facilities of the agency”, Shaahan said.

“These attacks on law enforcement bodies, separately to ICE, should be halted”, said US Vice President JD Vance, through an X post.

The ICE is the government agency and is responsible for implementing the promise made by President Donald Trump during the election campaign to expel millions of illegal migrants from the US.
