KEK has today accepted the official KFOR decision, through which KEK operational zone has been declared a restricted area for flights (“No Flight Zone”, with special emphasis on nonpilot air systems (dronic).
“Kosovo Energy Corps (KEK) announces public opinion that, based on Law provisions No. 06/L-014 for Critical Infrastructure, KEK objects and assets are classified as part of the critical infrastructure of the Republic of Kosovo. This infrastructure represents the foundation of electricity supply for all citizens and the country's economy, making it an essential and irreplaceable product for daily life and national development”.
Taking into account the importance of this infrastructure, local and international security institutions have paid particular attention to its defence. In this direction, KEK has accepted KFOR's official decision today, with Ref. No. BKPR:0736/25, through which KEK operational zone has been declared a restricted area for flights (“No Flight Zone”, with special emphasis on pilot-free air systems. This decision went into effect on the date 01.09,2025”, the notice said.
This decision has come into force on September 1st of this year.

This decision went into effect on the date 01.09,2025”.
This step represents a clear testimony to the commitment of local and international institutions to support Kosovo's energy infrastructure security system as one of the main pillars of security and defence.
