Key to the special lung hospital in Peja because of lack of doctors

The Tuberculosis and lung disease treatment centre in Pec, which has served patients from all over Kosovo for over 70 years, is facing a severe lack of pulmonologists, creating crisis in treating patients. His directors admit that they lack doctors, are saying that serving patients is not [...]
The medical institution in Pec for the healing of tuberculosis and lung diseases, operating in 1950, now has only three polymologists, Periscope.
The centre, which has once exercised senatorial function by offering treatment and long-term care to patients from all over Kosovo, now cannot even address local patients from Peja.
On the first floor of the special hospital for adult lung diseases and children is the omnology department, which has not accepted any patients for four days. As KOHA has learned, the service has been interrupted because during this period there have been no medical personnel present on time.
Even during Thursday, KOHA learns that patients have returned.
The Peja Hospital has confirmed the lack of doctors, but they have said that the service to patients has not been interrupted.
We're currently employed by two Talmudologists. One is on medical leave after an intervention, while the other is on regular annual leave. During this time, until the doctor returns from the annual holiday, patients who need pulmological treatment are being treated by doctors in the Internistic Department, while the worst and most complicated cases are referred to and transferred to the Pulmology Clinic in KKUU, Pristina. We also inform you that patients continue to receive laboratory services and necessary medicines in the Pulmology Department. Thus, the service for patients has not been interrupted”, told by Pec Hospital.
And another Talmudologist currently holds the position of hospital director.
Director Fahri Hasani was contacted, but he has said he has responded through the information office.
Shefkije Citaku, a retired counterpart who worked from 1985 to 2020, describes the situation as a health disaster.
This is a very bad fate for Kosovo health to say the full meaning of the word, and it hurts my soul to say it by knowing how we worked, worked, and contributed. I feel so sorry for him. We never thought the lung hospital would come in this state. lung disease pathology comes immediately after heart disease”, Citaku said.
In 2000, it says that the institution had 24 Talmudologists.
While it adds that pulmonology is now not being addressed with proper importance.
So today, in 2025, there are only 3 polymologists, that they didn't give any importance to the Talmudology. To our fate, others, who have not been polymologists at all, have established different political structures. You can't get a scholarship to do it for a month and two months, it takes years to become a framework. At least 5 years it takes me to become a Talmudologist. What do we do now? Wait five years for me to shut down the hospital, to make a Talmudologist”, Citaku said.
The operation of the special lung hospital has been remembered by a citizen of Pec.
Here all the Kosovo sick people who have been in Kosovo have here and before patients came here stayed for six months. Because there are pine trees here, these trees there's no tradition. Now exactly I don't know, as a child, that I have a house nearby, a line. They gave films on Saturday and Sunday, and the patient's screening lines were all the same as they had six months, and more were”, said citizen Action Gusia.
Regarding the situation in the lung department, KOHA has asked at SHSKUK, but during the day they have offered no answers.
