KEK operational zone declared banned for flights, KFOR distributes announcement

This decision has entered into force on the date 01.09.2025, said KEK, which added that KEK assets are classified as part of the critical infrastructure of the Republic of Kosovo.
KEK's post has distributed KFOR itself today.
This infrastructure represents the foundation of the electricity supply for all citizens and the country's economy, making it an essential and irreplaceable product for daily life and national development. Taking into account the importance of this infrastructure, local and international security institutions have paid particular attention to its defence. In this direction, KEK has accepted KFOR's official decision today, with Ref. No. BKPR:0736/25, through which KEK's operational zone has been declared the Forbidden Zone for Flights (“No Flight Zone”, with special emphasis on nonpilot air systems. This decision went into effect on the date 01.09,2025”
KEK said this step represents a clear testimony to the commitment of local and international institutions to support Kosovo's energy infrastructure security system as one of the main pillars of security and defence.
