Covey, a former senior international official with experience in the Balkans during and after the war in Kosovo, is expected to testify in Thaci's defence.
Who's Jock Covey?
Jock Covey is a former senior international official who during the post-war in Kosovo served as deputy UN Secretary General in Kosovo (UNMIK) and had been deputy to Bernard Kouchner.
In this role, he was one of the key figures in the international administration managing Kosovo's transition after the end of the war in 1999.
Covey had direct influence on the country's political and institutional developments during the sensitive period of reconstruction and stabilisation.
Because of his experience and knowledge of the political and security context in Kosovo, he has been invited as a defence witness to the trial of former President Hashim Thaci in The Hague Specialised Chambers.
He is expected to testify in two to three days. /Lajmi.net/
