James Rubin, Ammenpour: I am at The Hague as key defence witness for Thaci

He spoke to the famous journalist Christiane Ammanpour about this matter.
Referring to D3SK, Amanpur says that The Hague has the headquarters of the International Criminal Court, where Rubin will testify to the former president of Kosovo, who he says he recognised him very well since the war, follows the clankosova.
“Yes. It's called Kosovo Specialised Chambers. I have to say first that the judge has told me three or four times that I am not allowed to speak of specific fundamental elements of my testimony. But the fact that I'm here is, of course, okay. Everyone knows I'm here. I am testifying as the key defence witness for former Kosovo president”, Ruby said at the beginning of this conversation.
He says it is wrong to judge a people for the actions of any individual.
Meanwhile, Rubin also speaks of the indictment against criminal Slobodan Milosevic, issues he says had worried about.
I have to admit that I was a little worried because, if you remember, we were trying to get Milosevic to surrender, give up on Kosovo, which is considered, you know, as the cradle of Serbian civilization. Give up power in Kosovo. And to do that, he had to remove all forces, accept NATO's victory, and we said, then go to The Hague”.
And now we had a very good example. It was the first time that everything worked perfectly. Kosovo, one of the reasons I am proud, is that we achieved our goal. We stopped the war. We removed Serbs from Kosovo. Now Kosovo is a democratic country. Milosevic fell from power and went to The Hague. And we had a peace agreement. We had NATO deployment at very little risk to soldiers”.
We achieved an international goal with competence”, James Rubin said, as he said that unlike Iraq, Afghanistan, where things didn't work out properly, “this was not just the right thing to do to prevent a genocide, but we did it properly”.
We did it with the support of the world and even took Milosevic to the War Crimes Corps, where he also died”, said former senior DAS official.
Among other things, Rubin says he has become very skeptical with international lawyers and international instruments.
I've become quite skeptical of international lawyers and international legal instruments claiming to carry out American or international foreign policy. Sometimes the law gets in the way. Sometimes legalism is not the best way to act. And I think there are many such cases. When this trial is over, I will give you a pretty good example of this in Kosovo's case, where international politics meets with international law and the world is no better for him, where judges and lawyers make decisions based on their careers, not based on rule of law, and then people lose respect for the 34x1> law, he said.
Rubin also defended the bombing of Serbia's Radio Television during NATO bombings, saying they were supporting the mass murder of Kosovo Albanians.
“They called Clinton's people war criminals for shelling Serbian television stations supporting the mass murder of Kosovo Albanians. This is not a war crime. This was an act of prevention of genocide. And lawyers sometimes get judgments in their hands on what is right and wrong”, James Rubin, former US Assistant Secretary of State during the Clinton Administration, said.
