KFOR said that “such patrols are essential for preserving a visible presence, increasing awareness of the situation and supporting overall stability throughout the area of responsibility of Western Regional Command”.
“They [the patrols] stress KFOR's firm commitment to ensuring lasting peace and security for all communities in Kosovo”, KFOR said.
KFOR reiterated that it continues to implement its mandate based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999 to contribute to a secure environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo and freedom of movement at any time and impartially.
KFOR works in close co-ordination with Kosovo Police and the European Union's Mission to Rule of Law in Kosovo (EULEX) in their respective roles as respondors to Security. /Periscopi/
