The Israeli Army said it has carried out air strikes targeting senior Hamas leaders -- the Palestinian group declared terrorist organisation by the United States and the European Union -- in Doha, Qatar on 9 September.
In an X post, Israeli President Isaac Herzeg says it was the key and correct “to target Hamas' leadership, and then condemns Khalil al-Hayya é chief negotiator of Hamas and the head of the exiled Gaza without confirming that he was a direct target of the attack, the BBC reported.
Herzeg says al-Hayya has “the blood of thousands in his hands, one of the architects of the October 7th massacre, as are many of his colleagues”.
As the BBC had reported, a senior Israeli official tells Israeli media that al-Hayya was one of those targeted, as well as Zaher Jabarin, the leader of the Western Coast in exile.
It is not yet known who was injured or who was killed in the attack. /Periscopi/
