Ismaili Bridge vows safe 24/7: Women and girls will no longer be afraid to walk alone at night (VIDEO)

Pristina chairmanial candidate Uran Ismaili has developed an event with a group of women and girls in the Sun Coast district, where they walked together overnight to see closely the problem of lack of public enlightenment. Although this neighborhood is one of the biggest and most important [...]
Although this neighbourhood is one of the capital's largest and most important, lighting is missing on almost every street, making daily life uncertain, especially for women and girls. This situation often deprives them of the opportunity to participate in community life and often forces them to limit their activity during evening hours.
“1,200 Pristina streets are without enlightenment, or otherwise, 70% of Pristina has no enlightenment at all. Lack of lighting is not only aesthetic lack, it is a lack of security. Therefore, we will invest in 1,000 streets of Pristina, to have enlightenment on every neighborhood of every street in Pristina,” said Ismaili.
As the women and girls present walked, they shared daily experiences, stressing that the lack of enlightenment and presence of wandering dogs turn any exit into constant anxiety.
Ismaili's plan envisions investments for the full lighting of Pristina streets and security improvement in every city village and neighbourhood. This pledge is closely linked to one of its five priorities for a functional and viable Pristina building a secure capital 24/7, with lights and no wanderings where citizens can move freely and feel safe both day and night.
