Kosovo Police Inspectorate (IPK) rejects subject claims “Serbian Democracy”, under which more than 30 complaints filed by this subject are allegedly concealed. The IPK clearly points out that no complaint is erased. Any cases that are officially registered are handled in accordance with the legal mandate and investigated professionally, objectively and independently, regardless of the link's ethnic, political or social affiliation. The IPK office in North Mitrovica works regularly and is open to all citizens. From this office and the IPK facility in Hyvali for the 6th month period of 2025 have been accepted and addressed 38 complaints by citizens of northern municipalities of the Republic of Kosovo, the post says.
IPK has also said that concrete investigative actions have been undertaken for each reported case and that the IPK has held regular meetings with citizens, civil society organisations and local and international representatives aimed at boosting transparency and accountability.
For each reported case The IPK has taken concrete investigative action based on legal authorisations, as well as forwarded to competent Prosecution cases where elements of the criminal act have been found, while in cases of alleged administrative offenses have been forwarded to the Kosovo Police for disciplinary treatment. In each case, the IPK, based on legal obligations, informs parties of their status complaints, and the same has happened to complainers from subject “Serbian democracy”, who have been reported on the status of their complaints. Also, The IPK has held regular meetings with citizens, civil society organisations and local and international representatives in northern Mitrovica, with the aim of increasing transparency, accountability and public confidence towards this institution, added to the communique, the Express broadcasts.
In the end, the post re-exemplifies that accusations that the IPK supposedly “sided with police” are untrue, and that the independent, multiethnic and based IPK institution.
At these meetings, explain how citizens' complaints are addressed by publishing separate reports about the investigation findings for the past five years. The accusations that IPK supposedly “has the police side” are untrue. The IPK is an independent, multiethnic institution and based on international standards, which is not affected and treats with impartiality every case by seeking accountability from Kosovo police based on the legal mandate. The IPK encourages all citizens, indiscriminately the community, to present their complaints to our offices and ensure public opinion that each case is handled with seriousness, professionalism and impartiality, completed in the post.
