Ilir Meta remains in prison, request for reduction of security measure is dropped

The Special Court against Corruption and Organised Crime has decided to continue the Ilir Meta prison, Albania's former president.

Meta's lawyers demanded that the measure be replaced by an easier one, such as the obligation to submit or stop going abroad, but the court refuses.

According to Euronews Albania, despite defence arguments, the court decides no legal conditions for changing the move have been met, leaving Meta behind bars. /Periscope/
