Hoti: President Osmani is completing the mandate without leaving any trace to statehood

Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani is completing the mandate without leaving any trace to the country's statehood, says Democratic League of Kosovo deputy Avdullah Hoti. Two days after the US suspended strategic dialogue with Kosovo, as stated because of government actions in office, Hoti addresses a series of criticisms even against the first [...]
Former Prime Minister Hoti, in an interview for Kosovo Press, says that President Osmani, in nearly five years at the top of the country, has failed to represent the unity of the people, as well as to maintain the constitutional functioning of institutions.
According to him, President Osmani does all her political actions for personal interests, citing the time they co-operated with the LDK.
President Vjosa Osmani has recently indicated that she is thinking very seriously about the possibility of re running for the country's first. Its mandate ends in April 2026.
All its political actions, in all situations since it is in politics, without exception, have subjected electoral interests for personal purposes. All of them. Even during the time she was in the Democratic League of Kosovo when we were in opposition or in government, then her conduct in 2020 and 2021, when she left the party, completely abandoning her political home, not on principled issues, not on defense of principles, but just for electoral interests. Even now her statements I see from this point of view electoral calculations that are trying to promote public... Now when she's running out of her mandate, I believe it's time to settle accounts for her work in the presidency and on the political scene. She's the first of the state now and five years ready, and people have to see what she did in that office as the first state to advance the interest of the state of Kosovo... It has failed in two of the key functions that the first state must represent: representation of people's unity and preserving the constitutional functioning of institutions and not talking about advancing Kosovo's citizenship towards integration into Europe. I believe it will complete the mandate without leaving any sign, without even putting a '%gur', as it were, in the stronghold of the strengthening of the state of Kosovo”, he says.
Hoti for Kosova Prees also speaks of the political crisis and delays in forming new institutions.
He says Kosovo's Assembly has not been constitutionalised since the legislature's leadership has not been completed, even with the election of deputy chairman from the Serb community, as well as why chief speaker Dimal Basha has closed the constitutional session.
The Constitutional Court has imposed temporary measures until September 30th, where it prohibits any action by MPs, as well as the launch of procedures for forming the new government.
The Constitution made that decision following the Serbian List's complaint.
Given delays in forming new institutions after the February 9th parliamentary elections, as well as party polarisation, Hoti sees a parliamentary majority as impossible to create.
Therefore, it requires an inter-party dialogue to see how to move away, even with new elections.
Kosovo on Saturday launched an election campaign for the 12 October local elections.
In this regard, Hoti expresses confidence in the LDK's victory in municipalities in which they govern, as well as emphasises that they have good opportunities in many other municipalities. /Periscopi/
