Havenier: Some say Kurti and Kosovo Government still have good relations with the US, that is not true

In an interview for REL, Houvenier has stressed that the suspension of US Strategic Dialogue is not an ordinary move and that it shows the level of frustration the American administration has felt toward the approach of the Government of Kosovo.
“Some say Albin Kurti and the Government of Kosovo still have good relations with the US, but that, simply, is not true”, Houvenier said.
He added that if relations were good, there would have been no need for such a serious step as the suspension of Strategic Dialogue a key mechanism for co-ordination and deepening co-operation between the two countries.
This is not a pleasant situation. This is a bad obstacle to realising the vision that the US has had since independence, and that the people of Kosovo have also had”, the ambassador stressed.
According to him, Washington's decision to take concrete measures comes after a long period of warnings and public statements that, according to him, have not had the desired effect on the behaviour of Kurti Government.
