Over the past 12 months, the price of gold has increased from 2,536,91 to $3,819.8, registering a $41.5 percent increase.
The price hikes are related to geopolitical tensions, uncertainties over the global economy, increased central banks' demand for gold, as well as the cycle of lowering interest rates from the US Federal Reserve.
Last week, Fed lowered the basic interest rate by 25 base points, while markets expect more reductions during the October and December meetings. /Periscope/
