Two cargo ships transported combat vehicles, armoured vehicles, military trucks and other equipment and personnel from the German port of Rostock via the Baltic Sea in Lithuania, a member of the European Union and NATO.
After arriving at the port of Klaipeda, the 37th Bedwarm Brigade convoy headed to Padrade and other Lithuanian military bases.
In Lithuania, troops and vehicles will participate in a large-scale exercise called Quadriga 2025, focused on protecting the Baltic region in crisis and war conditions, Telegrafi reports, broadcast Periscope.
Lithuania will become the focus of Bundeswehri's military involvement in the coming years.
In response to the changing security situation in Europe and Russia's aggressive behaviour, the 45th Bled Brigade, called Lithuania, is slowly developing in the Baltic state.
It is expected to be fully functional by 2027 and will have 5,000 soldiers.
