The French Navy has realised one of the largest cocaine seizures in its history, sequencing 9.6 tonnes of narcotic matter at a market value exceeding 500m euros.
The operation was conducted off the coast of West Africa, within the framework of the sea security mission “Crymbe”.
According to the official announcement from the Atlantic Marine Region, the action was conducted by two French Navy ships, following a joint operation with drug services, sea intelligence and British police co-operation.
The target was a state - without - flag fishing ship suspected of trafficking narcotics.
The operation represents the French Navy's greatest success in 2025, which has already been named a record year in the fight against drug trafficking.
By the end of August, French naval forces had managed to sequencing nearly six tons of cocaine in the West African region alone. /Periscope/
