The widely distributed images show Trump pointing to Melanie as she shakes her head during an exchange seized through the windows of the Marine One helicopter. This caused social media comparisons with a similar incident between French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife.
But Jeremy Freeman, the forensic reader of lips, said:

According to Trump, the steps stopped suddenly when he and Melanie went up to the building shortly before he gave a speech at the United Nations General Assembly.
It's amazing that Melanie and I didn't fall on our faces before”, Trump said of the incident, adding: “Absolutely sabotage”, writes the NY Times.
He referred to a Times report of London saying that the UN staff was heard jokingly that they could turn off the moving stairs to force Trump to walk in the hall.
Another British lip reader, Nicola Hickling, said Trump tried to assure Melanie: “cannot forgive, tried to hurt”.
