American President Donald Trump, on Monday linked autism with the use of childhood vaccines and the taking of known pain medication, Tylenol, by women during pregnancy.
Therefore, he raised a claim not supported by scientific evidence to the center of US health policy.
Available “tests have found no connection between using paracetamol during pregnancy and autism”, EMA said in a statement to Reuters.
The agency added that paracetamoli can be used during pregnancy when necessary, but always in the lowest effective dose and frequency.
