Concretically, while the Turkish president was talking about Palestine and the massacre of violence that continue with constant intensity in Gaza from Israel, the audio stopped.
This break of audio angered Turkish media, which named it “intentional sabotage”.
But later in a statement to the media, Turkey's Communication Directorate reacted, clarifying that Turkish President Recep Tayip Erdogan was not interrupted during his speech on Palestine, in the Magnaries of the UN General Assembly in New York.
“U.S. Presidential and Governing Words are given 5 minutes, while other speakers are given 3 minutes”, It says on notice.
Noting that, as with other heads of state, President Erdogan's limit was five minutes within this framework, the directorate said “is not the case that the president was not allowed to speak or that his words were interrupted during” speech.
Stressing that there has been interruptions due to applause in some moments as President Erdogan was speaking, the directorate said further that the microphone was automatically shut down at the end of the fifth minute, according to technical procedures.
“The president completed his speech immediately after that. Similarly, Indonesia's president's microphone was also turned off in line with the same procedure“, added in statement.
