He was dismissed as an administrator of Vlora Airport/ Regon Valon Luka: Behet Pacolli has strayed far from the principles of government

In a statement distributed to the media, Valon Luka points out that so far he has received no official or formal announcements from competent bodies, teaching the news only through media reporting.

He said he is unaware of the reasons or legal reasons for such a decision by accusing businessman Behgjet Pacolli of serious deviation from the principles of corporate government.

Public statement on recent developments regarding my duty as Vlora International Airport Society Administrator

Honored media representatives,

Dear fellow workers,

Dear citizens,

I take advantage of reports and news widely distributed in the media concerning my dismissal from the Vlora International Airport Administrator's position after a period of nearly four years in the direction of this society of particular strategic importance to the Albanian state.

From the beginning, I would like to stress that I have not been officially announced of such a decision and that I have not received any formal action or communication from the competent organs of society. So far, the information available comes only from media reports. As a result, I remain completely unaware of the causes and legal reasons that such action may have motivated.

However, I assure you that in the exercise of my duty as administrator, I have always acted in full accordance with the Society's Status, with the concession contract, as well as with the entire other legal and applicable regulatory framework. Any decision or act on my part has been based on principles of legitimacy, transparency and responsibility, with the aim of successfully developing and completing this strategic and important project for the Albanian state.

Put it this way, what I can communicate with today with full conviction is that every possible reason is not related to performance, commitment or conscientious exercise and responsibility for my duties as administration.

In this sense, the reasons and motives of such a decision are needed and will be required by the shareholder who has made this decision, which constitutes a serious deviation from the principles of good corporate governance, ethical standards and professional standards that should be respected in managing a project of this nature.

In current conditions, I am reserved and will exercise all the envisioned legal means and ways to protect my rights and my professional reputation, as well as to clarify any misconception or interpretation in public opinion.

Also, until further notice, I am reserved to take any additional stand and invite the media to consider this statement final.

In conclusion, I would like to stress that the Vlora Airport project has been and remains a project of particular importance to me personally and professionally. For nearly four years, I have worked with maximum dedication to further this major project, which is currently in the final phase of the works and on the eve of the start of operations.

Express my sincere gratitude for the extraordinary VIA staff for the professionalism and commitment shown, for Albanian public institutions for support and co-operation, for financial institutions that have believed in this project, and for the sub-proposors of our partners, who have professionally contributed to its realisation.
