The Constitutional Court has clearly determined that Kosovo's Assembly is constitutional only after electing the mayor and all its vice-presidents, leaving no room for interpretation or procedural avoidance. Keeping today's chairmanship meeting, in the absence of a deputy chairman, is an open unconstitutional act and conflicts with the country's legal and institutional standards”, Deliu-Kodra wrote.
On the other hand, the MP says it is happening because of deliberate drags in the process by the winning coalition in the February 9th elections.
“This is happening because of the intentional procrastination of the process by the winning coalition, which -- avoiding constitutional obligations -- is holding the complete constitution and normal functioning of institutions hostage. Citizens have voted for stability and development, not for blockades and political maneuvers that violate democracy and rule of law”.
