“The court condemns Dimal Basha for slandering 25 thousand euros

Dimal Basha has been convicted of slander against former Deputy Finance Minister Mustaf Grainca, a member of the Democratic Party of Kosovo.

Kosovo's Parliament Speaker has already been charged by Ferizaj's Foundation Court to pay damages worth 25 thousand euros, since he has been found guilty of slander.

Basha, in a public statement in 2019, had accused Grainca of misusing and irregularities in the construction business in the Ferizaj municipality, describing his activity as “maf of concrete”.

A few weeks later that year, in July 2019, Mustafe Grainca, former deputy finance minister from the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), exercised libel suits and insults of personality against Basha, then journalist on a television.

Under the request, Grainca demanded compensation from Basha in the form of 65 thousand euros.

Grainca is a businessman in the construction field. He owns “IDEA Invest” Sh.P.K., which was founded in 2015. In the Agency for Business Enrollment, the company finds primary activity to be building residential and non-banning facilities.

Earlier, he has been involved in the Democratic Party of Kosovo. He has been training for more than a year as deputy finance minister.
