Tens of members of that family were convicted of committing criminal acts, and many received long prison sentences.
The Ming family worked for one of four clans that controlled the town of Laukai, near the China border, turning it into a gambling centre, drugs and other types of crime, the BBC reported.
Myanmar authorities arrested a large number of members of these clans in 2023 and extradited them to China.
A total of 39 members of the Ming family were sentenced today in the eastern Chinese town of Wenzhou, of which 11 were sentenced to death, while 11 received life sentences, the CCTV reported, Euronews.
Other family members were sentenced to sentences ranging from five to 24 years in prison.
As the court stated, they were involved in telecommunication fraud, illegal casinos, drug trafficking and prostitution. /Periscope/
