Clinton in his speech recalled intervention in Kosovo. He said many people considered him insane because of the decision to intervene in Kosovo. But Clinton said he did, because he knew Kosovars would never give up.
Many thought I had gone mad when I engaged in Kosovo. But, I told them: look, this will be the only country in the modern world where a war will be won through our airpower, because Kosovars will never give up and in the end it will be very expensive for Serbs to continue fighting and we will save more lives in this way”, Clinton said.
Meanwhile, President Osmani said Kosovo has learned that freedom should not be taken as good and peoples always need alliances to move forward.
Listening to what I said reminded me of millions of people in the world who came to help when we needed them, but today I can speak as presidents, but years ago I was the child waiting in line for food. The children you're helping today, the women you're helping today, will be sitting here tomorrow. You said Kosovars would never give up, we would never give up, because we're a people we've been in occupation for years and despite that we never lost our identity and never gave up. Today Kosovo is a strong democracy and a state that can face challenges, but also a testament that small states can influence. Because we cannot be defined by geography, but by the stories we have to tell”, Osmani said./Periscopi/
