The new parliamentary elections are inevitable and can be held at the end of 2025, says Democratic Party of Kosovo Secretary General Vlora Citaku.

She in an interview for Kosovo Press stresses that in the current political crisis, new elections are inevitable, but initially the Constitutional Court's decision on what steps should be taken for the Kosovo Assembly. However, she adds, technically it is impossible for new parliamentary elections to be held before the run-off for local elections ends.

Kosovo has established new institutions even eight months after the end of the February 9th parliamentary elections.

The Constitutional Court has imposed temporary measures on September 5th until September 30th, through which it forbids elected MPs to take action or proceed to form the new government, following the Serbian List's complaint over the vote for the Serbian deputy chairman in the Kosovo Assembly.

“At the moment we are in, I consider that new parliamentary elections have become inevitable. It's been wasted too long. Mr. Kurti has lost Kosovo not only these months since we were without institutions, but has lost years. It has consistently placed population rather than responsible governance and instead of co-ordinating with Allies, has always chosen confrontation...22:16 initially we should expect to see what the Constitutional Court will tell us and what steps are designed to take on the Republic of Kosovo's Parliament. But, as I read so far, it seems to be technically impossible for those new parliamentary elections to be organised before the run-off (in local elections) ends. New parliamentary elections, of course, according to the calendar deadlines, could occur by the end of”, she says.

PDK calls news conference, unknown reason

The Kosovo Assembly at the end of August after sixty attempts has elected the mayor and four vice-presidents, but not the deputy leader from the Serb community.

In spite of that, Chief Parliamentary Basha has closed its constitutional session and has requested that legal terms be drawn out for forming the new government.

This prompted the Serbian List to complain to the Constitutional, until it even rejected the past voting practice in packages of candidates for vice-presidents of the Parliament from the ranks of non-most communities and the split voting of candidates from the non-Serb minority community.

Representatives from non-Serb communities, Emilia Rexhepi, were elected deputy speaker of the Parliament, meanwhile, ten MPs from the Serb community failed to secure the 61 votes needed to get the post, including MP Nenad Raspic.

And voting in the package of vice heads of the Parliament from non-US communities, according to Chitak, is seen in the Kosovo Assembly regulation, which has been adopted by the past legislature, where the parliamentary majority has had the Vetevendosje Movement.

According to her, voting in the package of vice heads of the Parliament from non-US communities does not mean constitutionalisation or veto of the Serbian List of Constitution of the Parliament, as highlighted by the country's president, Vjosa Osmani and the Vetevendosje Movement.

On the other hand, Citaku for Kosova Prees speaks also of the October 12th local elections, where she is convinced that the PDK will hold municipalities where it currently rules, and expand the map of victories in other municipalities, even in Pristina.

In addition, the PDK secretary urged each young and young in Kosovo to have patience and to hear from the start the testimony of former US Assistant Secretary of State James Rubin in The Hague in the process against former KLA leaders.

The former American diplomat for three days this week testified at The Hague as a witness to Thaci's defence and others. / KP/ Periscope.
