Tang Renjian, former Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China, was sentenced to death by bribery in a court in the province of Yildi on Sunday, according to state news agency Xinhua.
Tang took bribes, including cash and property worth over $28 million (37.6m) in positions held between 2007 and 2024, Xinhua said.
Changchun's Mediam Court suspended its death sentence for two years, noting that he had confessed his crimes, she added, broadcasts the Telegraph.
China's Communist Party expelled Tang in November 2024, six months after he was put under investigation by the anti-corruption watchdog and left his post.
The Tang investigation was extremely rapid and followed similar investigations into Defence Minister Li Shanghai and his predecessor Wei Fenghe.
