All known to Charlie Kirk's murder

Charlie Kirk, chief and cofounder of the conservative youth organization, Tourism Point U. SA, was killed with firearms Wednesday evening during a college rally in Utah.

Kirk was known extensively for his podcas, he was a culture warrior and an ally of the American President Donald Trump.

He led an effort to rebuild the Republican Party's voter extraction strategy in the 2024 elections, given the idea that there were thousands of Trump supporters who rarely voted but who could be persuaded to vote.

His murder is the latest example of political violence in the United States, affecting a wide range of political ideology and the two main parties.

A bullet from the roof

Kirk was speaking in a debate organised by the Touring Point USA at the “Valley” University in Utah, when authorities said the handpower opened fire from a nearby roof.

Videos posted on social networks show Kirk speaking by hand microphone under a white tent. A shot is heard, and Kirk takes his right hand to his neck while his blood flows from her left.

The University of “Valley” in Utah is the country's largest public university, with 47,000 students, located about 64 miles [64 km] south of Salt Lake City capital.

Authorities Believe The Merely Acted Alone

Doras had targeted a single man, said Beau Mason, U.S. Department of Public Security commissioner.

Utah Governor Spencer Cox called the killing “political suicide”.

A “person of interest” was detained Wednesday evening, Cox said, although it did not become known on what charges. Officials have no record showing that any other person is involved in the murder, the governor added.

The officers were seen looking at a photograph on their phones and showing it to people to ask if they knew the person of interest. Authorities said the handle was wearing dark clothes.

Two people were detained on Wednesday, however, they were released shortly after they were determined to have no connection with the event, according to public security officials in Utah.

The university said the campus was empty immediately and remains closed. The lessons were canceled until further notice. Those who were still at campus were ordered to stay in the country until the police took them out safely.

Kirk's growth connected to Trump

Kirk was only 18 when he cofounded the Touring Point on the outskirts of Chicago in 2012 with activist William Montgomery. They intended to fight for low taxes and limited governance in university campuses.

Touring Point enthusiastically supported Trump after he provided the republican nomination for president in 2016. Kirk served as personal assistant to Trump's eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., during the general campaign.

Connection to Trump helped boost the fast-growing Point. Soon, Kirk became the common figure on cable television, where he entered cultural battles and praised the president.

The contributions to the group doubled and then tripled, reaching $77.2m in 2022, according to public tax data. The group says it already has access to almost 4,000 high schools and university campuses, acting as a conservative brand promoting hundreds of online influences.

Kirk was known for provocative statements on the racial issues he used to attract Mr.

I'm sorry. If I see a colored pilot, I'll think: I hope he is well qualified”, Kirk said during a 2024 podcast episode with the other rightist activist, Jack Posobeic.

He expressed opposition to Yunetenth's proclamation as a federal holiday, calling that movement <x0-American” promoting “a neo-segrationist” that, according to him, sought to replace Independence Day.

Kirk's murder sentenced by both parties

Both Republicans and Democrats promptly condemned Kirk's murder.

Trump ordered the lowering of flags in half the spear and issued a presidential promotion. The president, who himself was easily injured in the ear when he was shot during the election campaign last year, said he had close relations with Kirk.

He described Kirk in Social Truth as a wonderful “item from head to foot. God bless him. ”

California Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom, who in March had invited Kirk to his podkast, wrote at X: “The attack on Charlie Kirk is disgusting, mean and unacceptable”. / AP/ REL/ Periscopi/
