The Central Election Commission (KQZ) has indicated that in the October 12th 2025 local elections, voters have the right to vote independently for two election races -- for the Comune Mayor and the Municipal Assembly.
CEC spokesman Valmir Elezi has clarified that it is possible for a voter to elect a Communist Mayor candidate from a political subject and vote for another subject in the Municipal Assembly elections.
“Yes, this is allowed. The voter has the right to vote independently for each race. This means that a voter can vote a candidate for Comune Mayor from a political subject and another political subject in the elections for the Communist Assembly,” has declared Elesi.
He added that the mayor's and Communist Framework elections are separate processes and have separate ballots, so the voter is not obliged to vote on the same political subject in both races.
