Various institutions dealing with the organisation of elections in their countries are expected to come to Kosovo to closely follow the process of Local Elections for Speakers of the Communists and Communist Places.
The same will be closely watched not only by the voting process on October 12th but also by various organizational aspects.
CEC spokesman Valmir Elezi has indicated that the list of these election institutions will become known after the accredit procedures are completed.
“The CEC is a full-fledged member of the Association of World Election Officials (A-ËEB) and has during this time built co-operation relations with institutions of various states dealing with election organisation and specialised organisations in the field of elections. Under these co-operations, we have prepared a special programme for international observers who will visit the Republic of Kosovo to recognise our electoral system closely and assess our election practices”, Elez said.
Representatives of these election institutions will not be the only ones who can monitor local elections, as the CEC is awaiting further applications.
“is continuing the online application period for accrediting observers and media representatives for monitoring local elections for mayors and the Municipal Framework, to be held on October 12th 2025. On September 17th, the deadline for 93 political subjects has been completed to submit their demands for accrediting observers. By September 27th, deadline remains open for local NGOs, government and intergovernmental organisations, international organisations and representatives of foreign countries, meanwhile, the deadline for application for local and international media is the 7 October”, Elesi reported, EO, broadcast Periscopi.
According to the CEC, monitoring the elections is essential for strengthening the trust of citizens and other acts of justice and transparency of the elections, ensuring that they are conducted in line with higher democratic standards.
