Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has rejected Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin's suggestion to meet in Moscow, calling the country's election of the meeting a sign that Russia is not really interested in negotiations.
Ukrainian leader said: “I cannot go to this terrorist's capital because Ukraine is under missile attacks, under fire every day”
“Putin can come to Kiev”, he added, writes euronews.
It becomes known that US President Donald Trump has sparked face-to-face talks between the Russian and Ukrainian presidents.
A bilateral or trilateral meeting was one of the main goals of the Trump summit with Putin in Alaska last month.
Later, Trump said Putin and Zelensky would meet after the Ukrainian president visited Washington and talked with European leaders, but Moscow has put additional conditions on the table, dragging a decision and increasing the bombing of Ukrainian cities.
This week, Putin said it was “prepare” to meet Zelensky, but in Moscow./Periscopi/
