Paparaci portal cameraman Jetmir Muji has been arrested today in Pristina, as he was shooting for a story about the education of Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani's daughters.
The event has prompted the reaction of the Kosovo Journalists' Association (AGK), which through a Facebook post have requested Muji's immediate release, calling the arrest arbitrary and contrary to human rights.
“The AGK is alarmed and deeply concerned with this arrest and arbitrary ban and calls on the Kosovo Police to release Mujin” immediately, the AGK's response said.
According to them, the cameraman's ban constitutes violations of media freedoms and abuse of police authority. “The AGK considers the arrest illegal, arbitrary and abuse by the Kosovo Police.
This is an unacceptable attack against media freedom and citizens' right to inform”, said further in response.
Until the moment the news was published, there has been no comment from Kosovo Police or from President Osmani's office regarding the case.
