Britain banned “Action for Palestine”, under antiterrorism legislation in July, after some of its members broke into a Royal Air Force base and damaged military planes.
The group accuses Britain's government of co-operation in what it calls Israeli war crimes in Gaza, reports Reuters, broadcast Periscope.
Police have arrested hundreds of “Actions for Palestine” in recent weeks under antiterrorism legislation, including over 500 in just one day last month, many over 60 years of age.
On Saturday, hundreds of demonstrators gathered near parliament in central London to protest Saturday's ban, with many holding banners saying: “I oppose genocide. I support “Action for Palestine”
London Metropolitan Police said the officers had begun arresting those expressing support for “Action for Palestine”.
Police did not say how many arrests were conducted, but a Reuters witness said dozens of people were detained. /Periscope
