His statement comes after developments in the Assembly, where the deputy leader from the Serb community failed to be elected, and saw which the new chairman, Dimal Basha, declared the constitution.
Kosovo should be a place where all communities want to stay, where they feel welcome, where they see a future and where future generations want to live. I am convinced that this is possible and that there are many people who want to do so. We are partners in this process, we have been partners since the start of building a multiethnic state and we will remain such”, British Ambassador for Local Media in Serbian Radio “said. Gorazdevac” during a visit to Rahovec.
In this proposal, he stressed the importance of co-existence and mutual understanding among communities in Kosovo.
The United Kingdom has always supported Kosovo as a multiethnic country where all communities can live, flourish and want to stay. And I will continue to work on it with all the communities I meet”, Hargrees said.
He added that during his first visit to Rahovec, he was particularly impressed by people's commitment to bilateral communication and community preservation.
It's always touching and inspiring to me to see how many workers people are, how willing and capable they are to communicate with each other and to feel people's deep history and relationship with this country”.
Ambassadorship visited the Church of the Holy Virgin and spoke with the clergy and the local community.
I was fascinated that there is still a small but lively Serb community and very communicative here. I know that history has been difficult, but I am impressed that the community continues to live and work with its neighbours”, Hargrees said.
Speaking of his conversation with the mayor, he stressed the importance of agriculture and environmental care, adding that he has heard his concerns about preserving water resources and land, which he said are essential to the lives of the people of Kosovo.
Recently, Hargreaves stressed that the international community has an important role to play in preserving co-existence.
“We are working with authorities in Kosovo and Serbia to make dialogue as productive as possible, but also within Kosovo between communities and institutions. This is the key to making Kosovo a place where everyone wants to live”.
