Democratic Party of Kosovo MP Blerta Deliu-Codra has been talking about the state of Kosovo diplomacy in the past five years, naming this period a period aggressive and damaging to the country's international position.
“I don't believe that sometimes the level of Kosovo diplomacy has been at a weaker stage we've seen in the last five years. Regress is a big”, Deliu-Kodra said.
She stressed that not only the European Union has imposed sanctions on Kosovo, but the United States of America has taken similar steps by suspending strategic dialogue with the country.
Kosovo not only has sanctions from the EU, but of course the sanctions we have from the US, suspending strategic dialogue with us”, PDK MP for FrontOnline said.
Deliu-Codra recalled the historic role of the US in the Kosovo statehood process.
“The US has been a competition for the state-building of Kosovo and our international subjectivity, and all our recognitions have occurred with the US race. The fact that strategic dialogue with the US has been suspended speaks that Kosovo is doing a survey every day, and more”, she said.
Compared to developments in the countries of the region, she expressed concern that Kosovo is lagging behind on the international stage.
We have states of the region that take new steps every day in their geopoliticality. Kosovo is far from its partners” concluded Deliu-Codra.
