A serious incident was reported this Tuesday in Pristina municipality environments, where following a physical clash between municipal officials, Fehmi Cupina has ended up in the hospital after allegedly being hit by Sami Salihu, LDK Asamblist.
Police spokesman for the Pristina region, Enis Plana, confirmed that around 10:30 a fight information has been accepted on “street. U n CK” in Pristina.
With the information received, police units were immediately released at the scene and accompanied by three persons involved in the case. Currently, investigative work is continuing to dawn the circumstances and motives that characterize this event,” said Plana.
LDK actor Fiknet Beata has claimed through a post that Asamblisti Sami Salihu has been attacked by Fehmi Cupina's men.
After the completion of the Capital Assembly session, prior to the Pristina municipality's facility, there was an unacceptable and serious act: our assemblyist was physically attacked, Mr. Sami Salihu. This attack, carried out by the boy and persons close to the Speaker of the Parliament, Mr. Fehmi Kupina is not only an unprecedented violence against a citizen representative but also a severe blow to democracy, institutions and dignity of the capital's Parliament. In the LDK Assembly Group, we strongly condemn this ugly act, which aims to intimidate and subdue free political voice. We thank the Kosovo Police for their immediate response and earnestly seek by law and order bodies to take immediate measures. Our group stands by Mr. Sami Salihu with the strong conviction that violence could never stop our mission to protect civic interest, democracy and the legal order in Pristina and Kosovo. ”, she writes.
On the other hand, the Asamblist of The PDK, Leotrim Retkocer in a post, said the attack was on the Cup.
“Sulmi tingling glass bottles to the head of Pristina's Municipal Assembly leader, Fehmi Kupina, by LDK asmblists, driven by language and the arrogant behaviour of Rama, is the greatest shame ever to occur in Pristina's municipality. The leader is the figure that guarantees the functioning and well-being of the Parliament, so that he became a target of violence within this institution makes the event even more scandalous. The Municipal Assembly is the highest representative institution of citizens, where their interests must be protected and democratic debate and never violence develop. The responsibility falls on Chairman for Progress Rama and his party, who have degraded this institution in violence and chaos.”, he wrote.
