The attacks on journalists and the media, AGK reacts to the President: Open public setback, unacceptable and dangerous language

Following the arrest and detention of cameraman, Jetmir Muji, President Vjosa Osmani has made an unacceptable attack against journalists and media, says the Association of Kosovo Journalists. In a long Facebook post, the president has reacted to the ongoing, illegal and dangerous persecution that media assigned to my minor girls”.
President Osmani's daughters are public persons. Reporting on their schooling, whether in public or private school, is in public interest, not persecution. Unacceptable and dangerous are President Osmani's language and attacks on journalists and media”.
AGK is particularly concerned with this paragraph of President Osmani's response: “Never, some so-called journalists (for any one of them would be shocked by what illegal activities they deal with, according to our security institutions), have never written that the country's president sends children to public school in Kosovo, despite the great challenges facing this” school.
This is an open public blackmail against journalists coming from the head of state with unlimited access to security institutions reports. Such a message when coming from the head of state should serve as an alert to the legal security of each Kosovo citizen”.
At the time when journalists and media are constantly attacked by the Government, the president of the Republic of Kosovo must be the one who guarantees and preserves media freedom, duty and obligation, even under the Kosovo Constitution”.
The AGK invites President Osmani to abandon undemocratic practices of media attacks, and to exercise responsibility in his post./Periscopi/
