An attack on a Michigan church, four killed several wounded

In a serious attack on the Mormon Church in Grand Blanc, Michigan, four people lost their lives and eight others were injured, authorities report. The striker, Thomas Jacob Sanford, 40, from Burton, Michigan, drove into church during Sunday service and started shooting, then lit fire in the building. He was shot and killed by police in the church parking lot, only eight minutes after the attack began.
Grand Blanc police said two victims died from gunshot wounds and two others were found dead inside the church. Still others are missing, while the building suffered severe fire damage.
Investigators are searching the attacker's property and are examining his phone records to reveal the motive for the attack. Sanford was a U.S. Navy veteran.
The FBI is conducting investigations and has sent specialised teams to the scene. Also, police have seized and controlled several bomb threats in other areas.
The Mormon Church confirmed the attack and expressed prayers for victims and wounded.
Senior American officials, including President Donald Trump and Michigan Governor Gretchenhimer, condemned the event and expressed condolences to the victims' families.
