There's a long experience on the battlefield.
With the American Army, he was involved in missions in Korea, Panama, Honduras, and other countries.
American-German Michel Valter Spath was aware of what atrocities were happening in the Balkans during the 1990s.
At one point he decided to take up arms again and come to the aid of the Kosovo Liberation Army.
During my service in the American Army, I had a lot of knowledge about what happened in the wars of Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. They were terrible wars that lasted for years. I grew up in Germany, and there I have seen the great contribution of Albanians to rebuilding the country. When the war broke out in Kosovo, some Albanians asked me if I could do something to help. I had already been involved in some conflicts in Korea, Honduras and Panama and I knew how ugly war is. I couldn't sit back and decided to go to Kosovo to help, he told Tv1.
He served on the front line under the command of Agim Ramadani.
During the battle against Serbs, he was injured twice, but is proud of the success they achieved on the ground.
I was received very well in Kosovo because some of them knew my profile. Of course, it was challenging, because the Kosovo Liberation Army then did not have many people. I served as sniper at the front line, under the command of Agim Ramadan. He carefully analyzed the situation on the ground and was very professional. In that battle we were able to put pressure on the Serbian army, but I too was injured. I can't forget the fact that we had U.S. support and this very important”, Spath says.
Spath also has words for the Special Court, where former heads of the Kosovo Liberation Army are being tried for war crimes.
No one had thought that our people would end up in prison on charges filed by Dick Marty, based on reports coming from Russia and Serbia. “Verse House” never existed. This has been proven many times. Likewise, even organ trade has never been possible; it has been proven that it did not happen, because there was nothing to be taken away from those who had passed around”, says former sniper KLA.
Spath shows that he continues to face wounds suffered during the war to this day, while still maintaining close ties with Kosovo. /Periscopi/
