The journalist stressed that many Albanians support the Palestinian issue, but do not understand why Palestine has not yet recognised Kosovo since declaring independence.
The ambassador said that question has often been asked in the media and that he is aware of Albanians' support for Palestine. He stressed that Palestine has no problem with the people of Kosovo and that relations with Kosovo citizens are good.
Since Kosovo placed its embassy in Jerusalem, we consider it an open violation of international law. That is why Palestine does not recognise Kosovo,” the ambassador declared.
Regarding Albania's position at international forums, where it is often positioned neutrally on the Palestinian issue, the ambassador expressed disappointment.
I have spoken with President Bajram Begaj, who supports us. I wish the Albanian government would support us more. I don't understand why Albania abstains from international forums and why it has turned its back on us, when war is not between Israel and Hamas, but between Israel and our people,” he said.
The ambassador added that he would like Albanians to talk more about the Palestinian issue and show more solidarity.
I don't believe that Prime Minister Rama is pro-docide and that's smart from him”. /Periscope/
