The former Lugano player has been invited several times by Switzerland. The first time was for preparations for the European Championship in May 2024. Then in November for the League of Nations matches against Serbia and Spain, where he attended both matches from the bench, and recently in spring for friendlys in Northern Ireland and against Luxembourg.
Hajdari debuted for Switzerland against the latter, but since it was only friendly, the door remained open for Kosovo. According to Blick, Kosovo has used the past weeks and months intensively to secure the player and has been rewarded.
