The promise is that in January 2026 the minimum wage totals 500 euros per month.
Deline Ibrahimaj, Economy and Innovation Minister, said this new level comes in line with economic sectors' developments, while explaining that business in 18 months will not pay additional costs as a result of this growth.
“Page 500 euros is a figure that is affordable to all sectors of the economy. So our studies have shown that this level of pay is attainable. Above all part of our programme is that with the minimum wage growth of 500 euros grossly, private enterprise will have no additional costs, so business will no longer pay any more social or health contributions for the first 18 months of implementation”, Ibrahimaj explained in Vision Plus.
It is projected that within the next four years, the country's average salary will reach 1,000 euros, up from the current 830 euros.
The public administration will come to have a further salary increase, thought to be gradually the average salary in the state to reach 1,200 euros at the end of the mandate. /Periscope/
